Mother Voices Important Message After Sharing Photo Of Baby Daughter’s Pierced Cheek

Enedina Vance got the world’s attention with a simple picture she uploaded to Facebook on June 28. The stay-at-home mom from Fostoria, Ohio posted a picture of her daughter, showing the baby girl with a dimple piercing, accompanied by a lengthy caption which read as follows.
“So I got the baby girl’s dimple pierced!! It looks so cute, right?!! I just know she’s gonna love it!! She’ll thank me when she’s older lol If she decides she doesn’t like it, she can just take it out, no big deal [sic] I’m the parent, she is MY CHILD, I will do whatever I want!! I make all of her decisions until she’s 18, I made her, I own her!! I don’t need anyone’s permission, I think it’s better, cuter, & I prefer her to have her dimple pierced.”
Soon, a flood of disapproving comments flooded Enedina’s post. She received several messages of outrage, hate mail and threats to call Child Protective Services (CPS) – many of which were laden with expletives and filled with claims that she did not deserve to have a child. She was called a bad mother, and some even threatened to attack her. Now, the 35-year-old mother is explaining the reason behind the picture and it’s not what you might think.
