People are judged mercilessly for their appearances, regardless of how attractive they are. Celebrities are picked apart for out of place hairs and breakouts, so you can only imagine how much having a large facial deformity could affect a person’s confidence.

One person who knows this all too well is 63-year-old Joanne Tronconi. She has Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome which has manifested itself as a large “port wine stain” on her face and swelling around her body – swelling which only started when she turned 40.

But thanks to her son’s incredible makeup artistry, she’s still able to feel beautiful in her own skin:

Joanne has admitted that she does get a lot of comments about the way she looks, but she has adopted a positive attitude towards her appearance.

A positive attitude which she says is the result of her son’s ability to help her inner beauty shine through with makeup.

Her 18-year-old son Matthew said that he feels incredibly proud that he’s able to help his mom so much and set up a YouTube channel to showcase her transformations and raise awareness of Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome, which is incredibly rare.
