25 Aug Mom-To-Be Hilariously Takes To Instagram To Show What Pregnancy Is Really Like
Luckily for me, I never have and never will be pregnant. I can imagine that it’s an incredibly strange, painful and stressful experience, that only becomes worth it once the child is born. But, one of the most annoying things about being a mother-to-be, must be how easy people make it look on social media.
Platforms such as Instagram are awash with expecting mothers who manage to depict their pregnancies in an effortless manner. Whether that’s through looking constantly glam, or somehow managing to maintain a fitness regime, these photos put an abundance of unrealistic pressure on regular mom’s who are struggling to battle through their own pregnancy.
In light of this new trend that is appearing online, Maya Vorderstrasse decided that she would also go online to document her pregnancy, but that she would aim to show a more realistic side to the experience. Taking to Instagram, Maya documented weeks 27 – 40 by posing next to a letterboard that detailed the stresses of pregnancy, but with a comedic twist.
“Honestly I was so tired of seeing motherhood portrayed as perfect, flawless, and effortless on social media because I never felt like it was like that for me,” she said. “So I embraced my chaotic life, and decided to share it with everyone in the hopes of helping other mothers realize that it’s OK to not have it all figured out.”
Take a look at Maya’s documentation below, and if you’ve ever been pregnant, no doubt you’ll find something of yourself in here.
1. Sounds painful
2. I mean, this just sounds like my life in general…
3. When you gotta go, you gotta go
4. He should really know better…
5. A motto we should all live our lives by
At 37 weeks pregnant, Maya realized there was absolutely no way she could fit into her pants…
