As every parent can attest to, dropping off your child to school for the first time can be tough. After carrying your child for nine months and teaching them how to walk, talk and love, it’s time for their next stage in life. Then, you spend years supporting your offspring, financially and emotionally, and protecting them from all the threats our modern world has to offer.

Then, when they finally reach 18-years-old, it’s time for them to leave for college, and you secretly can’t wait to see the back of them! They’re on their own now, and you can finally get your life back and transform their old bedroom into a gym.

Dropping off your little bundle of joy/menace is a rite of passage, and though most parents look forward to the day that their children fly the coop, and they finally get their freedom back, all parents can’t help but shed a tear when they send their kids off to college where they will inevitably get up to all sorts of mischief.

One mother, however, clearly made the best of the rather heart-wrenching time. Instead of sobbing over the fact that she was essentially setting her child free by dropping her off to her college orientation, Avery Leilani’s mom had a blast, clearly showing that she was going to enjoy her newfound freedom an awful lot too…
