Most people can only dream of getting a chance to stay in the White House and Buckingham Palace. Some of the most influential and powerful people in the world have graced their halls, and they adorned with a splendor that us Average Joes can barely imagine.

Few have had a chance to experience and compare both, but one of the lucky people who has is the former First Lady Michelle Obama.

The 54-year-old recently opened up about what it was like to spend the night in Buckingham Palace on a state visit in 2011.

After Barack Obama’s election in 2008, the family developed an extremely close bond with the British Royals.

“I think by the time we had the sleepover we had enough interacting with them. The surprising thing is folks wanted to be treated normally,” she told a MUSE event in New York.

“Everybody is happy when all the people are gone. They want to be hugged. They want to be touched. They gossip,” she said of life in Britain’s most famous address.

However, despite being extremely complimentary about the palace, there was one thing which Michelle said the White House does better!
