Melania recently hit the headlines for lashing out at Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana, for jokingly saying that she was the real First Lady in the president’s life. But now she’s sparked even more controversy thanks to rumours that she’s got a body double.

Body doubles are typically only used in movies, but Twitter users have speculated that Melania has hired a doppelgänger of sorts who makes public appearances with the president on her behalf, wearing a fake nose and sunglasses so that no one can tell the difference.

The rumors emerged on Friday of last week when footage of Trump and a bizarre looking “Melania” appeared as he spoke about hurricane relief for Puerto Rico. People then began to speculate if the First Lady was actually with the president.

It didn’t take long for the topic to begin to trend on Twitter, with many users of the social networking website pointing out the fact that the First Lady’s nose looked like it was made of plastic and that she was wearing sunglasses on an overcast day.

If Melania has a body double, it would certainly explain her decision to wear sunglasses when the sun was nowhere to be seen.
