25 Jul Meghan Markle’s Sister Admits To Cashing In On Her Romance With Prince Harry

People often pity those who are related to celebrities. After all, it can’t be easy to live in the knowledge that the only thing you’ll ever be known for is the fact you’re related to someone famous. It’s why so many celebrity kids go off the rails, frustrated by the fact that they are seemingly condemned to a life in their parents’ shadows.

This is something which Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha arguably knows all too well. She watched her sister struggle for years as an aspiring actress only to finally hit the big time when she was cast as Rachel Zane in Suits in 2011. From there, Meghan went from strength to strength, eventually leaving the hit show to marry a bona fide prince.

Whether it is out of jealousy, or concern for Meghan’s father as she has so often claimed, rarely a week goes by without Samantha hitting the headlines with a new claim about her half-sister, the new Duchess of Sussex.

The biggest scandal caused by Samantha was arguably the photographs she set up of their father Thomas Markle. They featured him being measured up for a suit and looking at pictures of Meghan and Harry prior to their wedding – something which Samantha claimed she orchestrated because she was upset about the negative press Thomas was receiving.

This was followed by intense media speculation about whether or not Thomas would actually walk Meghan down the aisle, which ended with the 74-year-old pulling out to have heart surgery and being replaced by the future king, Prince Charles.

However, just as Meghan has begun to settle into life as a member of the Royal Family, Samantha has been at it again. She has now claimed that if their father dies before Meghan reaches out to him, there will be “blood on Meghan’s hands”.

This claim was made just hours after Thomas, who has not been in touch with Meghan since he pulled out of her wedding, said that he would not give up trying to contact her through the media in an interview with TMZ.

Taking to Twitter to support her father, Samantha slammed Meghan and Prince Harry’s appearance at the Nelson Mandela centenary exhibition, writing, “How about you pay tribute to your own father?! Enough is enough.”

“Act like a humanitarian, act like a woman,” she continued, before adding, “If our father dies, it’s on you Meg.”

Now, appearing on the British talk show Good Morning Britain, Samantha took back her harsh words about her sister saying that she regretted her Twitter rant “to a degree” but insisted “I was really feeling that, it is so unfair that if there’s a misunderstanding that she reach out to him and she clarify because life is very short.”

“I felt as though if something were to happen to him, and he passed away, I don’t think any of us could live with the fact that he died unhappy and there was not closure. I believe in her heart that she would want that also.”

While discussing her tumultuous relationship with the Duchess of Sussex, Samantha was asked whether or not she was using it for her own financial gain and, shockingly, she said that this was indeed the case – but for a very good reason.

Opening up further about the situation with her and Meghan’s father, Samantha said, “I think he really just wants to embrace her, and have some closure on the distance, and the misperception and really let her know that he loves her.”

The 53-year-old then addressed the rumors that Thomas had faked his heart attack to get out of the wedding, saying, “He sincerely had a heart attack and I was very shocked that the world would mock that or make fun of it.”

Samantha’s admission that she has been cashing in on Meghan’s fame was reflected by her suggestion that she would be appearing on the British version of the reality TV show Big Brother – no doubt to further discuss Meghan for a fee.

When asked directly if she would appear on Big Brother, Samantha said, “Urm… well, I would tell you, but then I would have to kill you, so… I don’t want to find myself in locks and stocks quite frankly. It wouldn’t be becoming.”

The 53-year-old also addressed claims that Meghan is embarrassed of her family her sister-in-law Darlene Blount was arrested on suspicion of assault on Friday. However, little is known about the alleged incident.

“With all due respect, every family – including the British Royal family – have had their complexities and their issues,” Samantha said, then added that the arrest should not affect Meghan’s opinion of her family. “You can’t generalize the actions of certain family members who engage in deviant legal activity for whatever reason, you can’t generalize that to the entire family.”

“To suggest she would be embarrassed of the entire family, including her mother’s family, and not be in contact because of that would be foolhardy,” the 53-year-old said.

One thing’s for sure, if Samantha appears on Big Brother, which is famed in the UK for being extremely low brow reality TV, Meghan would likely be excused by the majority of the population if she said she was embarrassed by Samantha…
