22 Mar Meet The 31-Year-Old Who Still Hasn’t Started Puberty
It’s safe to say that puberty is a right of passage. When we are in our preteens, sometimes before, we notice our bodies begin to change, and over the course of the next few years, these changes turn us into the adults we are today – physically and mentally.
While puberty can happen later in life for some people (those who develop after the age of 14 are said to be “late bloomers”), once a person is well into their twenties, it is rare for them not to have experienced it at all and this can have devastating consequences.
Thirty-one-year-old Brandon’s life has been blighted by his failure to start puberty. Despite wanting children of his own, his genitals have not developed, not have any of the other features characteristic of male puberty, something which has prevented him from landing a job.
Without a source of income, he had no way of discovering what was wrong with him and decided to seek the help of The Doctors in 2015 for an explanation and hopefully a solution to his devastating problem which has left him, to all intents and purposes, trapped in the body of a child.
Check out the video below to learn more about Brandon’s condition for yourself:

After his consultation with The Doctors, Brandon was diagnosed with Kallmann syndrome, which results in delayed puberty or the absence of it entirely. It has been estimated that the rare condition occurs in one in 30,000 males and one in 120,000 females.
Now that Brandon has a diagnosis, he set up a GoFundMe page to pay for the medical treatment that could change his life. While he has yet to reach his target, hopefully, the resurfacing of his story will help him get closer to finally starting puberty.
