McDonald’s Worker Exposes Serial Killer’s Plan And Is Rewarded $110,000

The majority of people have lost count of the number of times they’ve made the pilgrimage to the hamburger mecca that is McDonald’s. Since opening its doors in 1940, the fast-food giant has been a staple of many diets – both balanced and unhealthy – around the world.

Cheap prices, seasonal menus, and, of course, 24-hour drive-thrus have meant that people from all walks of life regularly visit the restaurant.

With so many customers to feed, working in McDonald’s is far from being an easy ride. People expect good quality, cheap food, and they expect it fast. What’s more is that the restaurant chain is notorious for underpaying its staff.

However, Delonda Walker, the general manager of a McDonald’s in Tampa, Florida, is about to lead a much more comfortable life after her brave decision to report a suspicious item in her restaurant put a serial killer behind bars.

She discovered the item when her co-worker, 24-year-old Howell Donaldson, handed her a McDonald’s bag informing her that he was going to leave the state and, presumably, his job. Suspicious, Walker decided to look inside the bag and found a semiautomatic pistol.

By sheer chance, a cop was sitting in her McDonald’s when she made the discovery, and Walker did not waste any time in alerting him to the pistol. He subsequently brought Donaldson into the station for questioning, and the gun’s purpose was revealed.

Donaldson has now been accused of murdering Benjamin Mitchell, 22; Monica Hoffa, 32; Anthony Naiboa, 19; and Robert Felton, 60.

Following Donaldson’s arrest, the family of 32-year-old victim Monica Hoffa met Walker to thank her for her actions.

“She took all of that worry that was out there away, and she made us all whole again,” Kenny Hoffa, Monica’s father, said. “She’s a hero to all of us and our family. She’s part of our family now.”

Now, Walker is about to be rewarded for her tip-off with $110K, although she has made a point of saying that “receiving a reward never entered my mind” when she decided to report the gun to the authorities.

“I went to work on Tuesday intending to serve customers and do my job,” she said. “The day turned out very differently. When confronted with this situation, I wanted to do the right thing, and I reached out to a nearby police officer.”
