02 Aug Mayweather Shocks McGregor Camp By Giving In To His One Pre-Fight Demand

It was nice while it lasted, wasn’t it?

We’ve had about a week of no Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor news and let’s face it, it was bliss. There was no smack talk, no stupid Instagram or Twitter posts, in fact, it actually seemed like each fighter was concentrating on the actual fight rather than all the furore that comes with it.

However, if there’s one thing that both these fighters love (other than money), it’s attention. So it’s wasn’t surprising to see that Floyd “Money” Mayweather has weighed in with a shocking Instagram post where he says he will give in to one of Conor’s pre-fight demands.

McGregor, who is not a boxer by trade, has made little fuss regarding the fight (probably because he’s set to land a big pay cheque from it). However, he did repeatedly ask for one thing; for the fight to go ahead with lighter gloves. McGregor has been training in his own specially-designed ring for the fight, and is more at home in a pair of MMA gloves, which are significantly lighter than boxing gloves. While McGregor seems to have had to adapt and change his training programme for the unprecedented switch from MMA to boxing, Mayweather has pretty much had it all his own way, until now.
