14 May Man Publishes Moving Letter Written By Mother Moments Before Her Death In Auschwitz

Auschwitz concentration camp was the largest and most infamous of the death camps created by the Nazi regime. It was divided into three camps where prisoners did forced labor, were completely stripped of their dignity, and many were eventually murdered.

Now, Frank Grunwald, a survivor of the Holocaust, has allowed an incredibly moving letter written by his mother, a Holocaust victim, to be seen by the public for the first time.

He also chose to publish the heartbreaking letter, written on July 11, 1944.

Frank’s mother, Vilma, was murdered by the Nazis in Auschwitz concentration camp. However, she still managed to get the note delivered to its recipient – her husband, Kurt Grunwald.

She gave the note to one of the Nazi guards, and astonishingly, this very guard personally delivered it to her husband who told his son about it in 1946 after the war had ended.

Frank was 11 years old when he found out about the letter, however, he decided he did not want to see it. It’s not hard to imagine why – it must have been an incredibly traumatizing and painful experience.
