Losing your ID on a night out is just one of those annoying things that we all have to contend with from time to time. It’s not necessarily the actual act of losing it which is annoying, it’s all the admin you have to do afterwards.

If it’s your drivers license, you have to pay £60 for a new one and wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive. This means that you have to take your passport out with you wherever you go, which is something you really don’t want to lose. While if it’s your bank card, you have to go into the bank and queue up every time you want a bit of cash (first world problems, I know).

However, the worst has to be when you discover that you’ve lost your ID once you arrive at the bar and get turned away at the door, leaving you looking something like this…

Usually, once you lose your ID/bank card/wallet, they’re gone forever. Lost to the murky depths of the nightclub or festival floor, you accept your loss and move on with your life. However, every now and then, your ID will find its way back to you through the kind gesture of a stranger, and this is exactly what happened to Owen Wilson-Brown, who also received a wonderfully worded letter alongside his returned drivers license.
