08 Feb Lottery Winner Shoots Himself Dead After $1.3 Million Ticket Goes Missing At Celebratory Party
Most people have fantasized about winning the lottery at some point. While money isn’t the answer to all of life’s problems, it can certainly help make life a lot easier – providing, of course, that an obscene amount isn’t won.
The lottery has been around for a long time, and there have been a lot of stories out there about winners who got excited with their millions and blew every cent unwisely. That’s why a more modest win can be more beneficial in the long run.
Obviously, people’s definition of a “modest win” will vary, but I’m of the opinion that if a person wins enough to buy a house for life and have enough left over to keep themselves extremely comfortable for at least a few decades, then they’ve hit the jackpot.
In the video below, a teenage lottery winner explains how winning too much money blighted her life:

While $1.3 million probably isn’t a king’s ransom, to so many people, this money will go a lot further. Forty-two-year-old Jirawut Pongphan from Thailand hoped to take full advantage of this when he won the grand prize of 42,000,000 BHT ($1.3 million) in November 2017.
However, his lottery fairy tale soon took a dramatic turn for the worst when he held a celebratory party for his family and friends.
It’s no secret that greed can bring out the worst in people, and that might have been the case in this story. When Pongphan woke the day after his celebratory party, he discovered that his winning lottery tickets had vanished without a trace.
