Forget your advent calendar, the countdown to Khloe Kardashian’s pregnancy reveal is over. After months of speculation, the 33-year-old reality star has confirmed that she is expecting her first child with NBA player and boyfriend of 16 months Tristan Thompson.

Khloe, the youngest of the Kardashian sisters, has made no secret of her desire to become a mother. “I definitely want a family,” she told the Mail on Sunday‘s You magazine in August 2017, before going on to gush about how Thompson, who is already a father, is “a great dad.”

“Tristan is a great dad and he definitely wants more children, but we both feel that it will happen when the time is right,” she said. Now, less than four months later, it appears that the time is precisely right.

The youngest Kardashian sister, like any modern celebrity, took to Instagram to announce that she was with child. In an emotional post to her 70 million followers and the world, Kardashian declared that her “greatest dream” had come true.

“We are having a baby! I had been waiting and wondering but God had a plan all along,” she typed in the snap’s caption. “He knew what He was doing. I simply had to trust in Him and be patient. I still at times can’t believe that our love created life!”
