The advert was heavily criticised for downplaying the importance of activist groups in regards to the Black Lives Matter movement. In a move that stunned the world; Jenner, a caucasian woman who has led a hugely privileged life, was shown solving complex issues of racism and inherent prejudices as they stand in American society, by handing a can of the soft-drink to a police officer. And now, citing reasons such as her participation in the said advertisement as well as a host of other reasons, Kendall Jenner’s devoted legion of followers have decided to stop supporting her altogether.
