22 May Katy Perry Had To Be Dragged Off Stage After Uncomfortably Long Kiss With The Bachelorette’s Hand

So we all know by now that Katy Perry is one of three judges on the revamped version of American Idol, which now airs on ABC after an impressive 15-year run on Fox.

I think it’s fair to say that this season has been filled with many bizarre and some quite creepy moments – many of them to do with Katy in some way or other.

Recently, the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, was caught making suggestive remarks to Katy Perry, not knowing that they had come back from commercial break.

One of the biggest controversies of the season, however, was the non-consensual kiss between Katy and a 19-year-old contestant who confessed to never having locked lips with anyone before.

Katy ordered the teenager to come over to the judge’s panel where she took him by complete surprise by kissing him on the lips.

Well, last night was American Idol‘s season finale and just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more uncomfortable moments, Katy Perry (of course, who else?) decides to give us another painfully awkward moment to make fun of.  As if we needed any more of those…

So what exactly happened? Well, it had a little something (okay, a lot) to do with the new Bachelorette, Becca Kufrin, and Katy’s apparent infatuation with her.

In fact, so enamored was the 33-year-old pop star that she even got down on her knees and started kissing Becca’s hand. After that undeniably over-the-top display of admiration, Katy began expressing her love for the 28-year-old reality TV star.

And then just to makes things even weirder (in the way that only Katy knows how), the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer took her hit song a little too literally and began kissing Becca (albeit on the hand) for an uncomfortably long period of time.

She just wouldn’t stop with the incessant hand kissing, and so one of Katy’s fellow judges, Luke Bryan, literally had to drag the 13-time Grammy nominee away from the bachelorette and off the stage entirely.

If this season of American Idol has taught us anything it’s that Katy Perry is easily one of the most embarrassing pop stars out there at the moment.
