26 Sep Kanye West’s Thick New “Dad Bod” Is Sending Twitter Crazy

Often when celebrities put on weight, they’re totally shamed for it. It’s like we, as consumers of their art, can only happily go on consuming that art if the artist in question fits in with our own image of perfection i.e. if they’re as slender and toned as humanly possible.

But why should it have to be that way? Sure, we should be taking care of our health, and celebs are no different, but a little thickness never hurt anyone. Recently it has appeared that celebs are increasingly more content with piling on a few pounds, and why shouldn’t they be? Everyone knows that big is just as beautiful as every other body type.

Well, it seems that Kanye West is yet another celebrity to jump on the “thick is sick” bandwagon.

Just last Friday, the 40-year-old rapper was spotted in LA looking noticeably thicker. And he may have been wearing a reasonably baggy grey t-shirt, but he definitely couldn’t disguise the evident weight gain.

The 21-time Grammy award-winning megastar had a healthy glow as he basked in the LA sunshine and he was looking larger than life as he broke into an almost-smile in front of the paps. And guess what – most people are loving the new look!

Inevitably there were definitely one or two haters, however, the they were very quickly shot down. In 2017, no one has any time to stand for body shaming in all its various forms.

Evidently, there were still a number of Tweeters who refuse to forget Kanye’s 2016 declaration that he would stand for president in 2020. While his weight has absolutely nothing to do with how adept or otherwise he would be at running the country, it would be great to have a president who subverts what we typically see as the image to aspire to. And fortunately, no one wants Trump to be that guy.
