17 Nov Jason Momoa Reveals How He Prepared His Insanely Ripped Body To Play Aquaman
When an actor takes on the role of a muscle-popping superhero we often witness a drastic body alteration. From Christian Bale as Batman to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the superhero physique isn’t just achieved through good genetics – although they certainly help!
The latest to join the perfectly toned ranks of superheroes is 38-year-old Jason Momoa, the colossal Hawaiin hunk who has had the world drooling since he emerged on our screens as the tall, dark and handsome Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones.
The 6 ft 4″ giant is now lending his impressive body to the role of Aquaman in the highly anticipated superhero movie Justice League – which, with production costs coming to an estimated $300 million, is one of the most expensive movies ever made.
Momoa, who started his career as a model, sent Game of Thrones fans rushing through the doors of their local gym after they saw his stacked shape on the show. His toned torso and bulging arms were an attraction for male and female fans in equal measure!
So when the Momoa was cast as Aquaman many wondered if it was even possible for him to improve his already impressive physique for the highly-coveted role. However, there was a huge amount of work to be done to transform him from a muscle man into a superhuman being.
Using his two multi-million dollar movie contract as an incentive, Momoa dedicates hours to a custom-built climbing wall which he claims is an “integral” part of his fitness regime. “It’s mentally stimulating, it’s like trying to problem solve,” he told Esquire.
