24 Nov Jack Maynard Apologizes For His Offensive Tweets In New YouTube Video

On Tuesday, the popular vlogger Jack Maynard left the British reality TV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! after it emerged that he had made a series of offensive comments on Twitter using discriminatory language.

Whilst he was in Australia filming the show, the tweets were widely shared, and producers subsequently decided to remove him from the jungle.

In one tweet, published in 2012, he used the racist slur “n***as”, and, needless to say, that did not go down well with fans of the show.

In another tweet published later that year, the now 23-year-old star referred to another Twitter user as a “retard”.

The vlogger, who has 1.2 million subscribers on YouTube, left the show citing “circumstances outside the camp.”

His publicist clarified that he had departed from the show because “it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.”

Yesterday, Maynard began making his apologies for saying some “pretty disgusting things” in a video which he uploaded to his YouTube channel.

The star, who turned 23 yesterday, was emotional throughout the video.

The four-minute clip was titled My Explanation, and he started it off by saying, “As you can already tell I’m back in London, I have left the jungle in Australia where I was before this. To be honest, I just want to start off with that I’m sorry, I’m just really, really sorry.”
