A $1,300 inflatable chicken has descended upon Ellipse Park, right between the White House and the Washington Monument.

This bird, with a texture far finer than President Trump’s actual leathered hide, first appeared during the Tax March in April, where activists inflated it during a protest to signify that Trump was too chicken to face Vladimir Putin, and too chicken to release his taxes.

The President will be working on tax reform all autumn while his own taxes remain a secret. The unending coverage of the Trump-Russia collusion story remains infinite, without a clear destination or clear notion of what absolute (or impeachable) proof of collusion even looks like.

However, the cheeky protest does have something of a downside.
