How One Facebook Selfie Proved This Woman Killed Her Best Friend

We are often told to be careful about what we post online because once something has been posted on the world wide web, it’s there for pretty much everyone to see, and possibly forever. It could very easily come back to haunt you some point down the line.

If you have a deep dark secret that you have been struggling to keep under wraps, posting anything from tweets to selfies could be used to expose you and whatever it is you are trying to hide.

This is exactly what happened to 21-year-old Cheyenne Rose Antoine from Saskatchewan in Canada.

The young woman posted what she thought was an “innocent” selfie, but this very selfie ultimately led to her being convicted of manslaughter.

Indeed, on Monday morning, Antoine was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of her best pal Britney Gargol.

The distressing story starts back in 2015 when 18-year-old Britney Gargol was found dead (evidently after being strangled) in Saskatoon on a road nearby a landfill.

The police investigating the harrowing case managed to pin Antoine down as the culprit when they saw a selfie that she had posted on her Facebook page.

The selfie which was posted just hours before Gargol’s body was found, showed Antoine wearing a belt, which was ultimately used as crucial evidence that she ended the life of her best friend.
