Hurricane Harvey has caused major disruption across the US. The tropical cyclone may have hit Texas, but the whole country is feeling the force of the Category 4 storm. Cancelled flights and delayed trains have seen citizens of Texas left stranded in other states as they struggle to make their way back home.

One person who fell foul to the disruption was Enock Anassi, a father and professor, who was left stranded in New York City after his flight back to Houston was cancelled. Rather than sit and wait to return home, he decided to surprise his daughter who was in class for her first day of grad school.

A professor himself, Enock couldn’t resist the temptation of attending Kerubo’s first grad school class. So he did what any normal, embarrassing father would and went along to sit in on her oral history class at The New School in Manhattan. Naturally, Kerubo was less than impressed and began to message her family to express her mortification.

Kerubo pleaded with her mother via the family group chat to “come get him”, but her desperate calls went unanswered. Meanwhile, her father took selfies of the pair and requested a syllabus so that he could truly join the class….
