I’m guessing when you normally think about your granny, it’s more along the lines of a kind elderly woman offering rice crispy squares and cocoa, isn’t it? That image was probably on the mind of the creator of the following meme:

We’ve all seen it. There are several variations, but they are all similar. On one side is a black and white photo of a covered up woman, while on the other is usually a younger woman posing in her underwear. The caption reads something along the lines of “your grandmother in 2016 vs your grandmother in 2090”.

One Tumblr user from Colorado wants to challenge the homely grandmother myth by sharing a juicy family story that reveals just how sexy her own great-great granny was way back in 1890.

The blogger claims that back in 2012, her family had gathered for Christmas celebrations and decided to flip through a few old photo albums.

“It’s Christmas. It’s the first year my sister and I are both home from college, and we’re feeling kind of nostalgic, so we take out the old family photo albums to remember everyone from times past.”

She explains that they were going through photos from her mother’s side of the family, “laughing at pictures of Grandma putting wrapping paper on the dog, and Grandpa pulling faces at the camera,” when they found a brown paper envelope tucked between the pages.
