10 Jul Game Of Thrones ‘Death Odds’ Have Been Released For Season 7
Game of Thrones is nearly upon us, with only a few weeks to go before season 7 sets television ablaze and spoiler-fearing fans going to extreme lengths to keep the secrets at bay until they get a chance to watch it. Personally, I’m going to be heavily limiting my social media usage to avoid those misguided status updates and memes.
The show is pretty well-known even outside of its avid fanbase for its high level of sex and violence, as well as its penchant for killing off fan-favourite characters. One fan figured out that, including the on and off-screen deaths from warring factions or otherwise, 150,966 deaths have taken place on the show by time we got to the season 6 finale.
So it’s fair to say that no one is truly safe in Game of Thrones. As it turns out, betting site Boylesports have released the betting odds for character deaths in season 7. With the promise of a “great war” coming, anything could happen. But who is more likely to bite it this season? Spoilers ahead!
1. Peter “Littlefinger” Baelish
Littlefinger is the most popular candidate to bite it, with a 1/1 chance of being the first killed this season. When we last saw him, he was trying to convince Sansa that she was the true heir to the Iron throne rather than Jon Snow, stirring up conflict between her and her half-brother. Maybe this will be a fatal mistake.
2. Euron Greyjoy
Euron has been given a 6/1 chance of being the first to die in the season, with a 1/5 chance of dying in the rest of the season. Euron was last seen crowned as king of the Iron Islands, but his niece Yara and nephew Theon escaped with his best ships and made a deal with Daenarys. With the mother of dragons on their side, it may be curtain call for the new king.
3. Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane
The fearsome warrior was brought back to life by dark magic and science, and now serves as the muscle to Cersei’s new reign as Queen. Odds have him as 6/1 to die first, since he will be the first to be sent mindlessly into combat. But given his sheer inhuman strength, he’ll be very difficult to take down.
4. Arya Stark
Arya has been given a 10/1 chance of dying first. She’s not yet reunited with her family, but her ability to transform herself and her ruthless skills as an assassin should keep her fairly safe until she finds them again.
