Have you ever broken something by accident and completely freaked out? I know I have. I was once at a family friend’s house when I was around eight years old and broke their beloved Furby (remember them!?) I remember it so vividly; there I was at the top of the stairs with the Furby in my hand and then suddenly it was gone. I looked down at it was tumbling down the stairs with bits flying off it, it was insanely dramatic. I will never forget the sheer panic and fear that came over me; I flew down the stairs after it and collected up the remains that were scattered about. I picked up the body of the fallen creature and quickly chucked it in the bin and closed the lid. I have never admitted to my friend that this happened and I pray to god that they are not reading this right now (hi, Ashley!).

However, Furby’s are absolutely terrifying (don’t try and tell me they’re not) and they’re not that expensive, so I don’t feel too bad about destroying one (even if the guilt did eat me up for a few days). But, if I had smashed a £35,000 jade bracelet, I might feel slightly different. In fact, I would probably pass out.
