Footage Released Showing Chester Bennington Laughing And Joking Just 36 Hours Before His Death

With mobile technology available to so many, simple moments in life are caught on camera daily. At the time, they may seem like useless clips, stored away in an endless reel of other useless movie clips on your phone. However, it isn’t until a later date that you begin to appreciate the full value of the short, but sweet moments you aimlessly snapped.

When Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington took his own life in July of this year, fans of the singer were left shocked and understandably devastated. His premature death was unexpected to everyone from his fans to his family.

His wife Talinda was also clueless to the darkness that was consuming her husband. In the two months following his death, she has used the media interest surrounding his death to help promote mental health awareness, which has included some rather heartbreaking footage of Bennington, just 36 hours before he took his own life…

“My next tweet is the most personal tweet I have ever done. I’m showing this so that you know that depression doesn’t have a face or a mood,” Talinda wrote to her 177,000 followers on Twitter. Talinda, a former Playboy model, married Bennington in 2006. Together they have three children, including twins Lilly and Lila who were born in 2011.

Talinda has been vocal on Twitter in raising awareness for depression, with a combination of hashtags, including #MakeChesterProud and #FuckDepression. Speaking to Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx on his podcast, she explained her mission to help those affected by Bennington’s death:

“I was on Twitter and I was reading through just hundreds of condolences to myself and my children. And I started to notice that fans were saying they were hurting, and they didn’t know what to do. And it weighed heavily on my heart, because their words were comforting me.

My husband and [the rest of Linkin Park], they have worked for twenty-plus years creating this amazing fanbase, just a strong network of people. They’ve made themselves as human as possible to everybody. And I just thought, ‘You know what? I’m gonna use that’”.
