We are all aware of the dangers that exist in this world. It’s common knowledge that there are few safe places left, but that’s just the risk we take by going about our daily lives. From hopping behind the wheel of a car to jumping on board a plane, there’s always the potential that you may experience some kind of turbulence.

But enough of the fearmongering (according to statistics, traveling by airplane is actually the safest way to get about), because there are some places that offer refuge from all this doom and gloom.

One place where you’re guaranteed to enjoy yourself with minimal threat is a festival. It’s a place for fun and frivolity with friends, but all too quickly things can turn sour – so sour that it’ll make that Jägerbombs taste sweet.

The alarming clip instantly went viral on Twitter, attracting more than 175,000 retweets, as users quickly worked to warn others about the perils people can face if they don’t monitor their drink in a public space.

Meanwhile, Kristal Santos, the victim in the video, took to Instagram to explain the shocking incident:

“I will explain here to those who are still worried… I did not drink anything from that glass because it was at the end of the party and the glass was already empty.

“Yes, I’m glad the video is echoing in a positive way as an alert for everyone to take more care of their glasses, including me. I bet that just like my mother everyone’s mother has warned a thousand times to be careful with the glasses, I thought she exaggerated!

It is not exaggeration, because we always think that with us this will never happen, but the truth is that it can happen anytime, anywhere.”
