20 Dec Fans Concerned About Pamela Anderson After She Posts Bizarre Hugh Hefner Tribute Video
Model and Baywatch star Pamela Anderson had a long friendship with Playboy founder Hugh Hefner after first appearing on the cover of the magazine in 1989. The big-busted, blonde-haired model was the epitome of what Hefner regarded as beautiful.
Blondes and Playboy go way back to the magazine’s very first issue which featured the first ever naked photograph of Marilyn Monroe in color. In the early noughties, Hefner said that Anderson was the 21st century’s answer to Monroe.
Now that she is almost completely retired from modeling, 50-year-old Anderson devotes her time to animal right’s activism and acting. She appeared in Playboy a total of 15 times and was on the cover for 14 of them.
Hefner’s death at the age of 91 on September 27 was met with sadness around the world, and countless stars were quick to take to social media to pay tribute to the American icon including cover girls Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.
Whilst Hefner had his critics, few can deny the positive work that he did promoting the decriminalization of contraceptives and gay rights. Hefner is said to be one of the LGBTQ+ community’s earliest allies.
Hefner was friends with many of the women who appeared in Playboy, but his friendship with Anderson was particularly close. In fact, when Hefner turned 82, Anderson decided to serve him a cake, naked, as a present.
Given that the two were close friends, it’s understandable that Anderson was devastated by the news of Hefner’s death, but her mascara-streaked, lingerie-clad tribute left fans more than a little concerned for her welfare…
Taking to Instagram to express her grief, Anderson posted a video of herself crying before poignantly saying “Goodbye Hef.” However, fans were left confused by her choice of attire as she had stripped down to her lingerie for the tribute.
Before saying anything, the Playboy cover girl makes a point of showing viewers her lingerie. Under normal circumstances, this might be provocative, but given that she is clearly distraught at the beginning of the video, it looks extremely bizarre.
Although many fans were quick to sympathize with Anderson for the loss of her close friend, others expressed their concern for the model.
“Your post gave me goosebumps,” one fan wrote. “I don’t know much about Mr. Hefner but any friend of yours is friend of mine. Your raw beautiful emotion is so refreshing. He was fortunate to have such an amazing friend like you, in life and beyond.”
Meanwhile, another fan wrote, “Someone needs to keep on eye on her.”
“I’d be bummed if someone significant left my life too but you know what I wouldn’t do?,” a more critical fan wrote. “I wouldn’t put on a full face of makeup, mess it up a little, film myself crying and then edit it, put it in grey scale then post it.”
But the video wasn’t the only thing that Anderson posted on Instagram. She also wrote a heartfelt poem to her late friend.
“Goodbye #Hef. Mr Hefner. I have so many thoughts, I have no brain right now to edit. I am me because of you. You taught me everything important about freedom and respect. Outside of my family, you were the most important person in my life. You gave me my life… People tell me all the time that I was your favorite…
“I’m in such deep shock. But you were old, your back hurt you so much. Last time I saw you, you were using a walker. You didn’t want me to see. You couldn’t hear. You had a piece of paper in your pocket you showed me – with my name Pamela with a heart around it.
“Now, I’m falling apart. This feeling is so crazy. It’s raining in Paris now. I’m by the window. Everything anyone loves about me is because you understood me. Accepted me and encouraged me to be myself. Love like no one else. Live recklessly, with unfiltered abandon. You said the magazine was about a girl like me. That I embody the spirit you fantasized about. I was the one. You said.
“You loved my boys … You were always, always there for us. With your love Your crazy wisdom. I will miss your everything. Thank you for making the world a better place. A freeer [sic] and sexier place. You were a gentleman, charming, elegant, chivalrous and so much fun. Goodbye Hef … Your Pamela.”
We wish Anderson all the best during this difficult time.
