Facebook’s New 59-acre Californian Campus Is Basically A Small Town

It wouldn’t be much of an exaggeration to say that Facebook is taking over world. Much like Google, the company has grown at an exponential rate. It’s hard to believe that such a wide-reaching and monumentally successful corporation had such humble origins, as a few students brainstorming in their college dorms.

That rate of growth doesn’t look to be slowing either, as they have announced a huge construction project to be completed over the next few years. Facebook’s headquarters are located in Menlo Park, California. Multiple buildings make up the expansive offices, with the two largest being MPK 20 (430,000 square feet of office space) and Sun Microsystems’ former offices (one million square feet).

Earlier this month Facebook revealed its plans to build a new campus across the street from its Menlo Park headquarters, a staggering 50-acre development which will have all sorts of facilities and residential spaces. The construction will enormous, and the entire process will take a number of years to develop to fruition.
