Child stars often don’t have the most healthy of upbringings. On the one hand, they get to experience the riches of celebrity at an early age, while getting the attention most kids only dream of getting. Yet growing up with such a rush of wealth, media attention and an an avid fanbase is bound to have some effects on your personality and mental state.

Some make it big, like Drew Barrymore, while others fade into obscurity, and some start making news for all the wrong reasons.

Macauley Culkin never completely left the public eye, nor did he act quite as recklessly as some of his peers. Yet the actor, whose career was launched at the age of 10 in Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone: Lost In New York, hasn’t exactly avoided the weird.

Most bizarre of all is likely the band he started in 2013, which ran for three years before breaking up. The band, called The Pizza Underground, would play Velvet Underground songs but replace the standard lyrics with pizza-themed ones. They would also give out free pizza during performances, something that wasn’t enough to gain them a good reception everywhere. A gig in Nottingham, England, ended in Culkin storming off stage as his kazoo solo was interrupted by fans booing and throwing pints of beer at the band.
