13 Apr Disgusting Moment McDonald’s Refuse To Serve Teenager Because She Was Wearing A Hijab

We have all been witness to at least one questionable incident in a McDonald’s. Be it a late night fracas over the flurry of a McFlurry or a middle of the day meltdown when two toddlers fight over their Happy Meal toys.

But whilst these moments are all fairly innocent – until one child clubs the other with their plastic Disney figurine – there can be some more sinister incidents. One person who experienced this was a 19-year-old student from London who found herself in an unbelievable situation when a McDonald’s employee refused to serve her because she was wearing a hijab.

Luckily she managed to catch the incident on camera…

The student, who’d attempted to buy food from a McDonald’s in Holloway, North London, was left appalled by the behavior of the McDonald’s staff and those in the restaurant who failed to defend her.

According to McDonald’s, the security guard responsible for the altercation has since been suspended. In a statement sent directly to The Independent, McDonald’s said that they have “no policy which restricts or prevents anyone from wearing a hijab, or any other religious attire, from entering [their] restaurant.”

They add that they “welcome customers of all faiths and sincerely apologize” for the incident.

Whilst it’s important that the fast food giant apologized, it is unbelievable that a situation of this nature could have occurred in the first place.
