Dad Leaves Most Savage Note For Daughter After Taking Her Phone Away

If you’re a parent then you know how hard discipline can be, especially when it comes to monitoring your kid’s technology. A lot of parents are pretty clueless when it comes to cell phones and computers, and can be left feeling mystified when it comes to how much data their kids consume. In the 21st century, mobile phones, tablets and e-readers are a perennial distraction: one that’s even more tempting to a bored child or teenager.

The older generation will always like to generalise, but phones really are the bane of many a family. They keep or attention fixed upon the screen and away from reality, and deflect our conversation away from reality and focused on a virtual space. Hardly any wonder then that so many households now have a phone curfew.

Even as a grown man, when I return to my mum and dad’s house and sit down to dinner, I’m expected to ignore the laptop, curtail texting, and turn my ear away from the ever-present text tone that signals a private message. There have been a few times in the past where me and my sister have literally be unable to drag ourselves away from our machines for long enough to enjoy a decent lasagne, and thus the phones are inevitably confiscated with extreme prejudice.

But this week a Reddit post has gone majorly viral, after a very sarcastic dad sent his unfortunate daughter a note after he’d confiscated her phone, which was pretty savage if you ask me.
