Announcing the birth of a newborn baby is probably one of the happiest proclamations that a couple can hope to make. Whether it be on social media, over a phone call or in person, every new parent looks forward to the moment when they can inform their family that mother and baby are safe and well. Tragically, this wasn’t to be the case for Louisianian couple Jean Luc Montou, 24, and his partner Sarah Bertrand.

Jean Luc was overjoyed to discover his partner, was pregnant last year and the two couldn’t wait to embark on one of the greatest journeys a couple can take together. Months later when Sarah gave birth to their son Julian in the hospital, the pair were delighted and looked forward to spending time with their newborn.

But the happiest day of their lives was cut horrifically short when Sarah unexpectedly passed away less than 24 hours later. Rather than sending a happy announcement out to his family and friends, Jean Luc was left to live out every new father’s worst nightmare and was forced to announce the birth of his son and the death of the love of his life in one heartbreaking post on Facebook.
