19 Apr Coroner Reveals The Cause Of Death Of The Mom-Of-Two Sucked Out Of A Southwest Jet

While it is not uncommon to have a fear of flying and therefore avoid traveling anywhere by plane, most people realize that potentially fatal emergencies on planes are extremely rare.

This is especially true for regular fliers who perhaps don’t take into account that, while it’s a small one, there is a very real risk that something could go wrong.

Tragically, a woman died on a flight after she was partially sucked out of a broken window:

However, as many of you would have seen, on April 16, a horrifying incident took place on Southwest Airlines flight 1380, when one of the plane’s engines exploded mid-flight, causing a piece of shrapnel to damage one of the plane’s windows.

The damage was so severe that a woman was literally pulled from her chair and partially sucked out of the window, as other passengers rushed to her help and attempted to pull her back into the plane and plug up the hole.

Sadly, despite the passengers’ heroic efforts, and the amazing efforts of the pilot who did her best to control the danger, the mother-of-two succumbed to her injuries and died shortly after.

Forty-three-year-old Jennifer Riordan’s upper body was sucked out of the shattered window of the Dallas-bound flight.
