It’s a amazing how a simple act of kindness can brighten up your day, even if you’re not necessarily the recipient of that generosity. When things look bleak and you’re feeling down, then you turn on the news and only ever hear about atrocities, murder, death and mayhem, it can be pretty inspiring to trade all that horror for something warm and fuzzy instead.
It could come in the form of some kind words from a stranger, or help in a time of need. You could be treated to something unexpected by a friend, or simply be told how much someone appreciates you. The particulars aren’t important; it’s the gesture and the altruism behind it that really makes a difference.
It’s even more inspiring when an entire community of people can rail behind one man and work together to make a difference in his life. Many cynics would decry the state of modern society and insist that people in contemporary times have only gotten more selfish and apathetic. However, this next story will prove those naysayers wrong, and demonstrate beyond any reasonable doubt that there are still come communities that look out for people in the best possible way.
This week, when Texas native Andy Mitchell was driving down the road in his home town of Rockwall, he spotted a glum-looking young man wearing a fast food uniform walking home. Mitchell he pulled his car over and asked the young man if he needed a ride. Justin Korva agreed, and hopped in. When Korva revealed that he walked three miles to work every day Mitchell was determined to do something for him.
