It’s not an easy job being a parent. Children are full of endless questions and the answers their parents give them play a pivotal role in shaping their development, especially when these questions are about potentially sensitive subjects like gender and sexuality.

Back in the 90s, LGBTQ+ issues were not as widely discussed in the media as they are today. I’ll never forget making a friend in preschool who told me that she had “two mommies”. When asked my mom what that meant, she simply didn’t know how to respond.

However, one famous parent has proven that sometimes the best answers to tricky questions are the simplest. Thirty-four-year-old Chris Hemsworth, also known as Thor, is a dad-of-three and his answer to one of his kid’s questions deserves an Oscar.

Now, a clip from a 2015 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show has surfaced where he told the famous talk show host and LGBTQ+ advocate about an interesting conversation he had with his then four-year-old daughter India – in which, she told him that she wanted a penis.

“My daughter’s kind of envious of my boys,” Hemsworth told Ellen. “She came to me the other day, and she’s like ‘You know, Papa, I want one of those things that Sasha and Tristan have.’ And I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ She said, ‘You know the things in between their legs that you have.’”
