Chris Brown Has Been Arrested In Florida, Moments After Stepping Off Stage

It’s no secret that celebrities are constantly getting themselves into trouble. From driving under the influence to engaging in physical violence and/or sexual misconduct – there’s just no stopping them.

It’s almost like their privilege and wealth has given them an outrageous sense of entitlement.

One celebrity who is notorious for having run-ins with the law – aside from the music industry’s current bad boy, Justin – is Chris Brown.

And yesterday (Thursday, July 4), Brown was arrested yet again, some moments after leaving the stage of a concert in Florida.

The R&B performer was seen being taken away in a police car shortly after performing at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on Thursday, July 5.

A number of officers were reportedly waiting at the venue to arrest the controversial singer after he had finished the gig.

According to a TMZ report, a spokesman for Palm Beach County Jail revealed that Brown was arrested due to an outstanding warrant from Hillsborough County. It is still unclear what the warrant is actually for.

Brown posted a $2,000 bond and was released, according to the spokesman.

After the 29-year-old singer was released from jail, a post was uploaded on to his official Instagram page. It was a photo of Brown on stage with a caption that read: “What’s NEW????? Show tomorrow!!!”

Brown is currently in the middle of his Heartbreak On A Full Moon Tour. The ‘Loyal’ hitmaker is expected to take to the stage at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fair Grounds in Tampa later today (Friday, July 6).

Brown – who has a four-year-old daughter called Royalty with his ex Nia Guzman – has had several clashes with the law. For instance, in May 2016, he was thrown off a plane for allegedly smoking marijuana.

Watch as Brown gushes about being a father:

And just a week before that, he received a visit from the police after complaints were made by neighbors that he and a friend were doing donuts on all-terrain vehicles (ATV) in the street. They also went on a number of lawns and began racing up and down the road at about 6 pm.

Of course, there was also the time – and the undeniable lowlight of his career – that Brown convicted for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

The highly publicized incident happened back in February 2009, almost a decade ago now.

He and the ‘Umbrella’ singer had an argument which quickly spiraled into physical violence, leaving Rihanna with relatively serious facial injuries which she received medical treatment for.

Brown turned himself into police and when the news was publicized, it seemed likely that his career would now be over. Any commercials he appeared in had been suspended, his music was shunned by radio stations, and he was notably absent from the public eye.

Following the regrettable assault, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation, one year of domestic violence counseling, and six months of community service.

That year, he did an interview with Larry King in which he explained what went down at the time of the incident:

“I didn’t know what to think at the time. I was like what, like, because at the time, I just didn’t know honestly what to think. And I didn’t know if the pictures were altered. I didn’t know if they were real. I didn’t know what. So I was just like, ‘Man, I just felt so disappointed in myself’.”

He was then asked by King if he thought he’d screwed up, Brown responded by saying:

“Every day. I think this is probably — like I said, it’s probably one of the worst moments of my life. And I always wish like I could take it back. And every day, it’s just something that sticks in my mind. And I’ve said countless times how sorry I am to Rihanna, and I just accepted full responsibility. But it’s just one of those things I wish I could have relived and just handled totally different.”

It is thought that the incident occurred after a woman Brown had previously been intimate with arrived at a Grammys party in February 2009, fuelling Rihanna’s jealousy.

Brown discussed the altercation further in a documentary, explaining how the lack of trust turned to violence:

“She starts going off, she throws the phone ‘I hate you!’, whatever, whatever. She starts hitting me, we’re in a little Lamborghini.

You know, she’s fighting me, and I’m like ‘Look, I’m telling you the truth, I swear to God, stop it.’ So then she hits me a couple more times. It doesn’t go from translation to ‘Let’s sit down, I’m telling you the truth.’”

“So now I’m gonna be mean and be evil. Like I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating sh*t.

But then I really hit her. With a closed fist. Like I punched her, and it busted her lip. And when I saw it I was in shock, I was ‘F*ck, why did I hit her like that?’”

Then in 2014, Brown spent nearly three months in jail for violating his probation after he allegedly hit a man in Washington.

He also had his probation revoked in January 2015 after it emerged he had been present at two shootings, neither of which he was involved in. His probation was finally lifted in March 2015.

Of course, now he has a daughter to think of, we can only hope that he stays on the straight and narrow. Children are incredibly impressionable and, naturally, learn a lot from their parents so it would be regrettable if she were to follow in her father’s rather questionable footsteps.
