Chloë Grace Moretz Reveals She Was Body Shamed At 15 By An Older Male Co-Star

The first time I remember seeing Chloë Grace Moretz on the big screen was in the 2009 film 500 Days of Summer, playing Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s surprisingly mature pre-teen half-sister. She was only 12 years old at the time, and a year later she took the world by storm by her foul-mouthed ultra-violent portrayal of the assassin Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass, cementing her place as an upcoming Hollywood star.

She successfully continued her career into adulthood, turning 20 years old earlier this year. This makes her one of the few actors to maintain and develop from a child star to a well-regarded professional as they mature. Headlining several movies such as The 5th Wave, Neighbours 2 and If I Stay, she’s still in high demand in the industry.

All of this makes it hard sometimes to remember that not long ago she was only a child starting out in show business. But even at a young age, she was still subjected to the body-shaming attitudes of the superficial world of the industry. Moretz has recently revealed that she was treated this way by a male co-star, shockingly at the age of only 15.
