A matador who lost his footing on his cape and suffered a fatal wound to the torso gave some chilling last words before dying in an ambulance, it has been revealed.

Ivan Fandino, a renowned bull fighter, was killed in southern France during the contest and has left behind a wife and daughter. The award-winning matador, who hailed from Spain, had fought hundreds of bulls during his career. However, a devastating lapse of concentration led to him stumbling before slipping on his cape that was used to enrage the ball. Fandino then fell to the ground, where he was gored by the animal, inflicting fatal wounds to his torso.

The wound, which punctured Fandino’s lungs, was enough to kill him in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, despite the attempt of paramedics, leaving thousands of fans shocked and devastated.

Sadly, this is the second time within a year that a bullfighter has died, calling into question the safety and morals of the “sport” yet again. Last year, Victor Barrio was also killed in front of a packed stadium in southern France after a bull gored him, and once more many people are now calling for bullfighting to be banned.
