Care Home Hires Pole Dancers To Entertain The Elderly In Bizarre New Trend

I don’t know about you, but when I am old I hope to still be living. I don’t want to be forced into a world of crochet knitting and scone baking, just because that’s what society expects of me. No, I want to be experiencing things. After all, we are here for a good time not a long time.

A good example of the sort of place I’d be happy to spend my golden years is Fairmile Grange care home in Dorset, England. This week the home came under fire after it provided residents with a pole dancing show.

Thirty residents, both male and female, were treated to the “inappropriate” activity which has divided opinion. As part of the experience six women, aged between 20 and 40 and dressed in “underwear”, put on a show in the care home’s dining room.

“Residents were given several choices of activity and specifically chose for a local pole dancing company to perform,” said a spokesperson for the care home.

This decision has caused quite a stir. “I’m a bit staggered about it. While I’m always delighted to see the horizons of older people widened, I’m not sure that includes pole dancing,” raged local councilor, Denise Jones.

Meanwhile, there was a mass of support for Fairmile’s decision to host a pole dancing company.  “Now this is the type of care home I want to be in in my final years!” wrote one approving user online.

Watch for yourself and decide if you think it’s appropriate or not…
