21 Jul BREAKING: Sean Spicer Resigns As White House Press Secretary
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has resigned today following a press conference.
Donald Trump’s top spin doctor announced that he would be stepping down from the post, and told President Trump that he vehemently disagreed with his decision to appoint New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as his new communications director.
Trump allegedly offered Scaramucci the position at 10am on the morning of Friday the 21 April, and offered to let Spicer stay on temporarily. Spicer however has resigned in protest after only six months as press secretary.
This controversial incident has occurred just over a week after Democrat representative Brad Sherman filed his first article of Impeachment against Trump’s administration, following President Trump’s firing of FBI director James Comey.
Spicer’s truncated tenure as Press Secretary has been one characterised by a number of perceived media gaffes. Only time will tell where his career will lead now.
