18 Dec Brave Choir Boys Eat Ghost Peppers And Then Try Sing With Hilarious Results
Christmas is synonymous with carol singing. Heralding the birth of Jesus, the tradition can be traced back to the fourth century in Rome, and, to this day, people flock to churches and cathedrals around the world to partake in and listen to Christmas carols.
Listening to carols is often an activity which inspires people to reflect on the past year. Whilst there are a lot of opportunities for humor during the holiday season, listening to carols does not fall into this category, but one choir in Denmark decided to change that.
Herning Boys Choir ate ghost peppers and tried to make their way through a song.
It’s no secret that chili peppers can be eye-wateringly hot, but the ghost pepper is in a league of its own. It was declared the world’s hottest chili pepper by Guinness World Records in 2007, and, to put that in context, it’s 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce.
Put simply, if a person consumes a large enough quantity of ghost chili peppers in a short period of time, they could die.
In the four-minute long video which was posted to YouTube by Danish comedian, musician and chili enthusiast, Chili Klaus, the choir can be seen showing off their talent during one number and their sense of humor in another – with hilarious results.
Despite clearly being in pain, the men and boys put on a valiant fight to make their way through the song, despite the fact that there is a fire raging in their mouths from what they have just eaten. Check out the hilarious stunt in the video below:
