Frankly, it hasn’t been the best year thus far for the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

2017 started off on something of a sour note for the family when Kendall Jenner became embroiled in a furious backlash for her part in an entirely regrettable Pepsi advertising campaign.

The commercial depicted Jenner joining a protest movement in the street, carefully watched over by law enforcement officials. Jenner subsequently steps out of the crowd, Pepsi can in hand, and gives it to one of the officers. With a “well, what d’you know?” look at his colleague, the police officer accepts the can and takes a sip of Pepsi, to rapturous applause from the onlooking protesters.

The commercial drew widespread criticism for apparently insensitive parallels to the Black Lives Matter movement, though, to be fair, it seems incredibly unlikely that Jenner had any say over the content and tone of the advert.

Since then the family has veered from hurdle to misstep; Kendall Jenner once again found herself on the receiving end of some negative publicity when, along with sister Kylie, she was criticised for a range of t-shirts that featured images of musical icons with Instagram photos of the sister superimposed over the top. The line of t-shirts has since been pulled.

Now, Jenner has found herself on the receiving end of the public’s ire once again, after it was suggested that she was a less than generous tipper.
