Aussie Skydiver Cheats Death When Both Parachutes Fail During 14,000ft Skydive

We all know at least one person who has skydived and lived to tell the tale, often raving of the excitement of the free fall and the beauty of the slow parachute drift to the ground. At least, we think it’s safe. But that’s not always the case.

If you have a skydive booked for the future, you should read the following with caution. Because the story Brad Guy has to tell is likely to give you some second thoughts. In 2013, at the age of 22, Brad’s skydive experience went disastrously wrong when his parachute failed to open.

Brad had a skydiving trip planned as part of a big family outing in Victoria, Australia. Along with his mum, dad, siblings, boyfriend, nephews and nieces, Brad eagerly awaited the jump as it was delayed for several hours. Finally, he was taken up in the air and readied for the jump. His instructor, Bill, jokingly asked him if he had any last words. He responded: “I hope my parachute opens”.
