Andy Serkis Read Trump’s Tweets In Gollum’s Voice And It Was Brilliant

Andy Serkis is a truly great actor. Aside from his pivotal role as Gollum in both the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, he was the man behind 2005’s King Kong, and that’s not even mentioning his numerous live-action roles on stage, television and film.

But it’s not just voice-acting. Serkis usually performs with a full motion-capture suit on, with every movement and expression he makes being translated onto the computer-generated model. Many have come to see Serkis as an underrated actor, as his talents aren’t recognised by many award ceremonies due to their digital component.

Regardless, Serkis continues to provide us with top-notch entertainment on the big screen, including his lead role as Caesar in the new Planet of the Apes series. The latest entry, and the third starring the actor, is War for the Planet of the Apes. It was while doing press for this movie that Serkis appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he could talk about the process of making the movie.

But the host had a trick up his sleeve – he was adamant that he would get to hear Serkis’ iconic Gollum voice – not just to repeat a line from the Lord of the rings movies, but to read out the tweets of Donald Trump.
