22 Nov Amir Khan And Rebekah Vardy Could Be Leaving The Jungle Today
It turns out that popular YouTuber 22-year-old Jack Maynard may not be the only famous face to prematurely leave the hit British reality TV show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! for making a string of offensive comments.
Jack Maynard is the brother of the better-known YouTuber and singer 25-year-old Conor Maynard, who some refer to as the British Justin Bieber. Jack, on the other hand, is famous for his popular vlogs, challenges and comedy skit videos.
Fans of Maynard were left disappointed when he left the show after it was revealed that he’d made a series of offensive comments in 2012.
He used offensive and racist language in Tweets that were widely being shared on the internet while Maynard was in Australia. Yesterday, the 22-year-old who has 1.2 million subscribers on YouTube left the show citing “circumstances outside the camp.”
Most of the Twitter comments were made in 2012 and had actually been removed before they resurfaced during Maynard’s short stay in Australia. In the tweets, Maynard shamelessly refers to people as “retards” and “n***as”.
The young YouTuber left the jungle so that he could learn more about the allegations and be in a better position to defend himself.
His publicist has since made a statement further explaining why Maynard made the decision to leave the reality show:
“In the last few days, Jack Maynard has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! – filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.”
“Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.”
