There are very few celebrities in existence that command quite as much respect as George Clooney. The 57-year-old actor is an international treasure with fans on every corner of the globe, and as a result, the people feel as though they must protect him. He is essentially the Hollywood equivalent of the Queen.

Throughout his impressive career, Clooney has established himself as a true icon. Not only is he the only person to have ever been nominated in six different categories at the Academy Awards, but he is also an extremely generous human giving millions of dollars of his hard earned cash to charities around the world.

For example, he gave $500,000 to the March For Our Lives movement earlier this year after 17 children were murdered by Nikolas Cruz at Stoneman Douglas High School in one of America’s most deadly school shootings.

Of course, aside from his incredible philanthropy and talent, Clooney is just your average guy. Sure, he may have an eye-watering $500 million in the bank, but he really is quite a regular man once the cameras stop rolling.

Behind-the-scenes, the notorious ‘silver fox’ spends his time traveling around the world to spend time on exotic beaches, rich vineyards, and colossal country manors. His main home may be in Los Angeles, but Clooney splits his time between several locations. For example, he is often spotted sunning himself by Lake Como in Italy, where he owns an impressive home.

When he fancies a more intense session in the sun, the Academy Award-winning actor jets to his mansion in Mexico which is situated next door to the home of former supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband, Randy Gerber. As if that wasn’t enough, he also dedicates a great deal of his time to the home he shares with his wife in Oxford, England.

However, this deserved downtime has been far from relaxing for the star who has been involved in several rather stressful experiences whilst away from a film set.

Earlier this week, Clooney was involved in an accident on the Italian island of Sardinia after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car. Clooney was thrown several feet into the air upon impact, but is reportedly “recovering” well after the incident.

Unfortunately for Clooney, the incident was captured on camera by another motorist’s dashcam. The clip captures the exact moment Clooney’s scooter crashes into the car, causing an almighty collision between the two.

Despite the scene, Clooney was discharged from hospital after only a few hours, indicating that he sustained no severe injuries as a result of the accident – no doubt, his pride is a little bruised!

This isn’t the first traffic incident that Clooney has been involved in. In 2007, he was hospitalized after the motorcycle he was riding crashed with a car in New Jersey. The driver of the car claimed that Clooney attempted to pass him on the right, whilst Clooney maintained that the driver was signaling to turn left and then decided to make an abrupt right turn.

Whilst there is no denying that both these experiences must have been extremely traumatic for Clooney, it’s easy to assume that it must have been particularly difficult for the drivers of both vehicles. I mean, can you imagine how you’d feel if you ran George Clooney over?!

Thankfully nobody was seriously injured, and Clooney is already on course to make a speedy recovery!
