01 Aug A ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ Sequel Is Coming Soon

We all remember that feeling. It was mid-October, and the tweenage version of yourself was plopping in front of the TV, eating candy much too early, and watching with delight as Disney aired Halloween movie after Halloween movie.

You’d just be pleasantly enjoying Twitches or Halloweentown when, suddenly, the movie would cut to commercial, and there it came on. The clip of “This Is Halloween” from Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas would start playing as a commercial interlude, and you’d pretend to your friends that you weren’t scared out of your mind.

For a stop-motion animated film made in the 90s, The Nightmare Before Christmas had some pretty scary scenes. Audiences loved the dark humor of watching Jack Skellington, of Halloween Town, attempt to experience the joy of a holiday very unfamiliar to him while getting accidentally lost in Christmas Town. Quickly becoming somewhat of a cult classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas now plays every year, and it has us all wondering… will Tim Burton ever bless us with a sequel to this dark comedy?

Well fear not, Halloween lovers and nostalgia buffs, because your prayers have been answered. In the Spring of 2018 we will get to see a sequel to the original Halloween classic, bringing us back to the comedic land of Christmas Town. But this time, in typical Tim Burton style, there’s a bit of a twist.
