A Mother Has Listed Every Thing She Worries About And Parents Are Finding It VERY Relatable

A quick scroll through Facebook or Instagram will have you believe that everyone you know is living a perfect life. Between snaps of exotic holidays and adorable family nights, it is easy to feel as if you’re alone as you struggle through each day.

Creating a halcyon life online is easy, but addressing what is really happening behind-the-scenes takes courage. Something that mother, Cameron Poytner has plenty of…

After a particularly gruelling day, Poynter was left feeling emotionally exhausted and in need of some support. So, she reached out on Facebook to other mothers, to admit her deepest feelings about motherhood. Nervous, but confident that her message would resonate with other parents, Poynter hit send and watched as mothers began to interact with her heartfelt words.

“I am the keeper,” she wrote, before compiling a list of duties that she naturally completes as a mother. “I am the keeper of schedules. Of practices, games, and lessons. Of projects, parties, and dinners. Of appointments and homework assignments.”

The extensive list then becomes deeper, as Poynter writes: “I am the keeper of emotional security,” and “I am the keeper of worry. Theirs and my own.”

Poynter’s tribute to mothers hit hearts across the globe, quickly going viral and garnering nearly 80,000 likes. “I have heard from hundreds of people — friends and strangers — who told me they desperately needed to hear someone say ‘I see you. What you do matters. You are not alone,’” Poynter explains.

Sharing her struggles, Poynter wrote:

“Most of the time, the weight of these things I keep resembles the upper elements on the periodic table – lighter than air, buoying me with a sense of purpose.

“But sometimes the weight of the things I keep pulls me down below the surface until I am kicking and struggling to break the surface and gasp for breath.

“Because these things I keep are constantly flickering in the back of my brain, waiting to be forgotten. They scatter my thoughts and keep me awake long past my bedtime.”

However, it would appear that she isn’t alone with this feeling, as thousands of parents flooded the comments section on the viral post to share messages of love and support. Quickly, Poynter learned that she wasn’t alone.
