When we get older and look back at the absolute tosh our parents used to tell us, it seems mad we ever believed it. Eating carrots will make you see in the dark. If you keep making that face, it’ll freeze that way. If the ice cream van music plays, it always means they’ve run out. I think the worst my family ever did to me and my cousins was when I was six and my grandma told us that smelling each other’s farts would make us stronger. Worst Christmas ever for us, most hilarious one imaginable for her.

At a certain age, most of us get an inkling that these “truths” may not be completely accurate, grow heavily suspicious and eventually become disillusioned with them. However, there seems to be one in particular that has stuck with a lot of people in the United States. In fact, almost 10% of Americans believe that chocolate milk comes from the most ridiculous place.
